Sometimes, it’s difficult to assess your own language skills, especially since qualifications vary from country to country.
This is why the Council of Europe in Strasbourg has developed a framework for assessing language skills. It classifies all European language tests into six levels of difficulty and assigns a corresponding skill level: this goes from elementary (A1 and A2) and intermediate (B1 and B2) to competent (C1 and C2).
